Previewing Estates in La Cresta

Just returned from looking at half a dozen stunning properties in the coveted La Cresta area. Here are some fun pix we took.

The one of the driveway was taken from the very top of it and in the photo, still only half of it can be seen! The home at the top was a treasure. Going to bring a client there for its Open House tomorrow.

Hope you’re having a great Friday night!

Quick Trip to The Promenade

I’ll go more in depth soon about The Promenade shopping mall here in Temecula, but I wanted to quickly share with you just how pleasant the plaza is. I had to stop and pick up something at Sephora. I was crossing the walkway and snapped this shot. It was a cool, Summer evening and many people were walking about and some were catching a movie.

There are several restaurants and terrific stores like Apple, Sephora, Coach, The Yard House, and more. We’ll be back tomorrow evening to catch the release of Cowboys and Aliens!

Harveston Community

The city of Temecula has some wonderful developments. One of my favorite developments is Harveston Community located off of Winchester Rd. The HOMES are spacious and very nice inside and out. The neighborhoods are picture-perfect with accompanying community landscaping. It’s almost like you’re on the set of a movie!

Then there’s Harveston Lake. People are always walking around the lake at all times of the year with their dogs and their children. It’s stocked with fish and fishing is allowed, not to mention there’s a little boat house where you can rent paddle boats on the weekend and zip around the lake!

The Lake House, which serves as the community house, also has a pool and splash park, and rooms to hold events like meetings or even prom which was only a couple months ago. It’s a gorgeous setting – I’m going to show you more pix and you can see for yourself. Additionally, for most major holidays, the association holds fun gatherings for the community such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Christmas, and more. Oh – and to top it all off, there’s a preschool and elementary school inside the community. Hmm… I don’t think there are many reasons to leave!

Park it!

There is no shortage of parks here. The question is finding the right one for your children. Some parks are geared more toward toddlers, some are more for the older 10-year-olds. If you’re lucky and have both like I do, some parks have a little kid area in one section and a big kid area in the other – all in one spot. See you there & bring plenty of water!

I call this “Magnificent Morning Sky” and I took it from the window of my house. THIS is the type of beauty I see every day living here.

We chose the community that we live in for a simple reason – we saw people walking around the neighborhood every time we came to look at houses. I thought to myself, Southern Californians don’t normally do that, lol; I have to learn more about this development. Now that we live here, WE are some of the people always walking back and forth to the park, to the grocery store, taking pictures of the sky and the different birds that visit..

Temecula is far and away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities like Los Angeles and San Diego. It’s perfectly nestled in between the two and it offers a slower pace of life that’s terrific for starting and raising families.

Gas it up!

I needed to share this important tidbit with you – The best place to get gas AND a reasonably priced car wash is at the Shell station on Margarita and Murrieta Hot Springs Rd.! When you fill up on gas, Shell reduces the price per gallon so you not only get a sparkly clean car, you get more bang for your gas buck. Today was $3.79 but with the car wash for $5.99, the price for regular was $3.59 per gallon. FYI, you can pay to have your car cleaned inside for you, or pull up to several powerful vacuums and clean your vehicle yourself. I like to vacuum the inside while I have music playing. If you pull up next to me, I hope you like country! 🙂

I Heart Coffee

The heat is on and it’s too dang hot outside to leave your car sometimes. But what does one do when one wants to procure caffeine? Well, I have a solution for you. If you have all your kids strapped in the backseat or you’re wearing your suit and don’t want to step out of the car in the heat, head to the Starbucks at Winchester and Nichols. It has DRIVE-THRU! The staff is very friendly and they’ve even memorized my drink – tall, hot, light roast over venti ice. Hope to see you there!

4th of July 2011

Before I forget – I wanted to post this pic of the 4th of July celebration my little family and I went to!

This shot was taken at this year’s celebration held at Ronald Reagan Sports Park. I have to tell you… the city of Temecula has one of the best fireworks display I’ve seen! It is a long show with beautiful pyrotechnics and accompanying music. The other photo is a shot of one of the big fireworks that I was able to snap mid-explosion.

The tradition amongst the residents in Temecula, is to get to the park early, barbecue our own food or walk around and buy from several of the yummy food vendors, listen to the free DJ music, and dance until the show begins.

Typically, people park in the surrounding streets and neighborhoods. Local law enforcement is quite organized and streets are blocked off accordingly to allow pedestrians to get in and out of the park en masse. This year, we parked at the nearby school (which I’m going to attempt again next year). I saw a church a block away charging $20.00 for parking. If I had remembered to bring cash with me, I would have paid, to be honest – A LOT of people attend!

After the end of every 4th of July celebration here, I can’t help but feel really good about the people, city, and community I live in, not to mention very patriotic. It was a great holiday and I’m going to invite more people for next year!
